Smarts is a superpower as Brainstorm solves the mystery of the Fantastix.

A crowd has gathered outside the Baxter Building as the Wrecking Crew decides to rob a jewelry store directly across the street from the former home of the Fantastic Four. When a signal goes out, the crowd cheers for New York’s newest superhero team, The Fantastix.

Back in the multiverse, Reed and Valeria have finished the modifications to the teleporter and begin to send groups of heroes back to their previous locations. There’s a really sweet moment between Reed and his daughter that every dad should remember when dealing with their own kids. There’s a fun moment where Spidey asks some pretty important questions to both Wolverine and Ghost Rider before they’re teleported away and the answer made me laugh out loud.

When the FF and company return to New York, they find themselves in the middle of the battle between the Wrecking Crew and the Fantastix. A battle that Reed warns could make things worse for everyone if they get involved. Johnny decides to wade in and the result is as disastrous as one would expect. The only person to notice something isn’t right about this whole thing is Valeria and she manages to find a way to end the conflict and expose the truth at the same time.

This was an incredibly fun issue after the heavy tone of the previous arc. Slott takes the Fantastic Four back to where it all started and lets them and the audience rediscover the family aspects of this team and why it works. Giving Valeria the spotlight in this issue was another great moment that was enjoyable on many levels. The end of the issue was a cute and engaging moment between Reed and Ben that was well done both in tone and style.

The art is done really well in this issue and the differences in styles seemed to flow with the tone of the story.
