The Super Powered Fancast

Mark Millar is the prolific creator and writer of comic book series like Nemesis, Jupiter’s Legacy, Marvel’s Civil War, The Ultimates and Superman: Red Son.

Several of his works have been made into feature films including Kick-Ass, Wanted and Kingsman: The Secret Service. Recently, Mr. Millar took to Twitter to challenge readers to cast who they think should play the lead character of Edison Crane from his newest series Prodigy from Image Comics and Netflix.

So we decided to Fancast who we think should be the principal cast for an upcoming film version of Prodigy. After all, it’s in our name.

Edison Crane

Professor Edison Crane is a young man who has been gifted with extraordinary intellect and curiosity since he was young. He created his own fortune and travels the world solving mysteries and helping people along the way. While there are several young actors who could embody the role of Edison Crane, I decided to go with Keith Powers as my choice for the role. Powers has had roles in films like Straight Outta Compton and Before I Fall as well as series like Pretty Little Liars, Fear the Walking Dead and the TV miniseries The New Edition Story.

Rachel Straks

Rachel Straks is a tough, smart CIA agent who is given information about a conspiracy that threatens the world. In order to solve the mystery, she engages the world’s smartest man Edison Crane in an adventure that will see the two of them travel the globe taking on mercenaries and other threats. The perfect actress to embody the tough as nails CIA agent is Cara Delevigne. Her roles in films like Paper Towns and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets showcase her ability to tackle interesting, strong roles.

Candice

Crane’s loyal assistant is smart and capable. Two qualities needed to keep up with a boss who can spend hours playing chess while working on a missile to divert a rogue asteroid before riding a flaming motorcycle across a ravine. Crazy Rich Asians and Fresh off the Boat actress Constance Wu would be the perfect fit.

Mr. Dashwood

The villainous Mr. Dashwood is high in the ranks of the mysterious Brotherhood of the Dragon and is aligning himself to take the reins of the organization. The perfect actor to embody the cool, calculating and charming nature of Dashwood is Lord of the Rings, Judge Dredd and Star Trek actor Karl Urban.
