The mastermind behind the hit HBO series True Detective is directing a ten episode series for Netflix and he is bringing in some powerhouse talent to star.

Emma Stone, one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood since the success of La La Land and two-time Academy Award nominee Jonah Hill are bringing their talents to the small screen for the limited series directed by True Detective creator Cary Fukunaga for Netflix. Fukunaga will direct all ten episodes of the series Maniac, adapted from the Norwegian series of the same name.

Maniac tells the story of both Hill and Stone’s characters who live a rich and full fantasy life while being patients in a mental hospital. Stone and Hill will also serve as Executive producers on the series which started production this month and is expected to complete filming by Thanksgiving. The dark comedy will also feature Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina) and Julie Garner (Ozark).
