The Rundown: Stephen Strange has one chance to defeat a Dormammu possessed Galactus before he breaks down all the barriers between science and magic. Unfortunately, it might come at a cost Strange isn’t prepared to pay.

Clea, Umar and the rest of the magical forces Strange has gathered to take on Galactus are doing their best to hold the line as the creatures insatiable hunger causes him to consume world after world and creature after creature. The survivors, including Clea wonder if Strange has a plan to defeat Galactus and when it will emerge. Even Mephisto wonders what Dr. Strange has up his sleeves to defeat Galactus.

When the Doctor returns, he is followed by an army of the most powerful beings in the universe including Hulk, Gladiator, Scarlet Witch, Silver Surfer and more. Surfer does his best to reason with his master, but to no avail. As Galactus fights and consumes the heroes as well, Stephen tells Clea what his plan is and it will either be the most ambitious thing he’s ever done or the worst disaster to ever face the universe.

The Story: I really love where this story is going and how it’s getting there. Waid and Kitson are going big with this issue and I am enjoying every part of it. From Clea and Umar fighting against Galactus to Stephen returning with a plan that no one saw coming, everything in this issue works. I enjoy the level of unpredictability to the story as well. So many things I expected to happen didn’t and when Strange’s plan finally began to unfold, I marveled at how he could possibly pull it off. I can’t wait to see how this story is concluded given the cliffhanger at the end.

The Art: Kitson and Scott Koblish deliver some impressive and beautiful art in this issue. Everything is filled with spectacle and scale with the action scenes reminding me of some of the best crossover events Marvel has produced. A great looking issue.
