The Rundown: Strange must assemble an unusual team in order to defeat a living role-playing game.

Strange and Clea find themselves in the Upper West Side when a mysterious wood with a castle at its center emerges and takes over part of the city. Strange reveals that the phenomenon is linked to a magical role-playing game that can only be defeated by being played. A revelation that will require him to assemble a party to join him.

Strange goes looking for recruits and convinces Black Cat, Hunter’s Moon and Taskmaster to join his party as they enter the fantasy realm and work their way towards the unwitting players. Unfortunately, they will discover that there is a familiar face behind this particular game.

The Story: A light, entertaining and fun story by MacKay. As a fan of TTRPG’s, the story connected with me and made me smile as Stephen is forced to find a party to play this dangerous game. I liked the banter between the characters and how the story progresses to a fantastic reveal that makes me want to see what happens next.

The Art: Ferry delivers beautifully detailed and expressive art coupled with great action and visual thrills.
