16 years after the animated series ended its run on The Disney Channel, it’s being reported that a new live action version of the popular series Kim Possible is coming.

The new Kim Possible will be a live action Disney Channel original movie and according to Variety and Deadline, Disney is currently on the hunt to cast the lead. The series is about high school student Kim Possible who splits her time between cheerleader practice and saving the world as a secret agent. Kim travels the world with her sidekick and best friend Ron Stoppable and his naked mole-rat Rufus fighting villains like Dr. Drakken and his henchwoman Shego among others.

The Kim Possible live action movie is keeping it in the family with the creators of the original series Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle (Big Hero 6: The Series, The Penguins of Madagascar) will serve as executive producers on the live action film as well as writing the script. Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky will co-direct the film. A live action Disney Channel original musical Zombies is set to premiere before the Kim Possible film and will share a connection with the film and its characters.
