The Rundown: Batman faces a threat coming after Gotham’s elite and Damian is given a deadly choice by his mother.

Even though he is no longer a billionaire, Bruce Wayne is still a member of Gotham’s elite and therefore finds himself at another fundraiser for the new mayor of Gotham. A fundraiser that gets the attention of a new gang the sprung up after the Joker War. After Batman comes to the rescue, the Mayor’s inner circle scrambles to get him and the rest of the city back on the anti-vigilante train, but there might be a bigger threat coming and its lose to Bruce’s new home.

After defeating the assassins sent to kill his mother, Damian deals with the news that there is another sect of the League of Shadows. A sect that even Talia wasn’t able to control. As she gives her son a choice about who he will be after rejecting his father, Damian discovers that this new sect has something that might interest him.

The Story: Tamaki delivers a solid mystery with this issue. Not only is it personal for Bruce in being close to home, but it also gives a sense of his new life in the city. I like both the plot and the dialogue a lot. There is some great character insight from Bruce. The Damian story is really good. Williamson builds on some interesting characters personalities and adds a new layer to Damian’s story while also showcasing his inner conflict.

The Art: Dan Mora delivers some stunning visuals with beautiful details throughout both in the exteriors and interiors of the world. Gleb Melnikov does great work with the look of the characters and the utilization of shadow and mood.
