The Rundown: The penultimate showdown continues as the survivors take on the Absolute Trinity.

Darkseid has brought in the trinity from his absolute universe to face off against the remaining champions for the heart of Apokalips. As they begin to battle, Joker decides to switch sides and join the winning team. A move that will grant him new powers. As the champions fall back, Batman returns to help his friends and together they find a way to free their counterparts from Darkseid’s control.

As the battle continues, the real Darkseid returns and uses his power to decimate the remaining heroes leaving only Superman and Luthor alive. As they prepare to battle, a betrayal leads to an unexpected outcome. One that a servant of Darkseid saw and might have a hand at changing.

The Story: Snyder and Williamson bring this story to an epic cliffhanger with surprises and thrills throughout. I truly love the action throughout this story and how the characters interact with each other. I loved the surprises in the story as well as the expected and unexpected betrayals. The story ends with an epic cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Fernandez and Xermanico bring their A game to the art in this issue. Every page and panel is filled with amazing details and moments to admire and enjoy.
