The Rundown: The team comes together in Stilben, but have issues working as a team.

The twins find themselves in a battle with a powerful magic user alongside Scanlan, Grog, Keyleth and Tiberius. As they try to bring her down, they are not used to working with a team and their individual interests lead to the user escaping and leaving the group injured and alone. As they continue to snipe at each other, Vax and Vex leave the group to continue the mission on their own.

In the aftermath, Vax and Vex are alone dealing with the failure of their mission when Vax is pulled through a window and imprisoned in a cell with the magic user who is waiting for his sister to rescue him while she prepares for a ritual that will require Vex and Keyleth to work together if they have any chance in rescuing Vax.

The Story: Mercer and Colville create some great moments of tension throughout this issue. I love the character interactions and how the story continues to tease the interpersonal conflicts this group will face with each other as well as their personal demons. The action is fantastic and there are some truly fun and funny moments to be had throughout this story along with a fantastic cliffhanger that guarantees that I will continue reading.

The Art: Samson creates some beautifully detailed and visually stunning art throughout the issue. I loved the action and the emotions of the characters a lot.
