The Rundown: Clayface escapes from Arkham and tries to reclaim his life, but there is a big complication.

Something is happening to high profile stars in Hollywood while Basil Karlo, or the Clayface who believes he is Basil Karlo, languishes in a cage at Arkham Tower. As he speaks to his therapist, he insists that he is the real Karlo. That night, he makes a daring escape from Arkham and emerges back on the street only to see that someone claiming to be Karlo is continuing his acting career successfully after being cured.

Clayface is determined to discover the truth as he sees the man known as Karlo living the life he feels he deserves. What he doesn’t know is that there is something dark happening in Hollywood and it is directly linked to Clayface.

The Story: Doyle crafts a dark, thrilling and engaging mystery in this first issue. I really like the layers of this story and how the reader is forced to confront whether this is the real Karlo or not. I really enjoyed the Arkham breakout scene and the psychological elements of the story. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.

The Art: Galan delivers stunning art throughout the issue. Everything from the character designs to the environments draws the eye beautifully.
