CBS is developing a new series based on characters from Thomas Harris’ Silence of the Lambs.

The series is titled “Clarice” and will feature FBI Agent Clarice Starling, the main character from the novel, as she returns to the field in 1993. The series takes place six months after the events of Silence of the Lambs and serial killer Hannibal Lecter is on the run. There is no word on whether Lecter will appear in the series.

attends Hulu’s New York Comic Con After Party at The Lobster Club on October 6, 2017 in New York City.

Rebecca Breeds has been cast as the lead in the series. Breeds is known for her roles in series like Pretty Little Liars, The Code and The Originals.

Silence of the Lambs was originally published in 1988 and the feature film adaptation was released in 1991. Directed by Jonathan Demme, the film went on to win five Academy Awards including Best Actor (Hopkins), Best Actress (Foster), Best Director and Best Picture.
