The Rundown: Haddy and Ryelyn discover more secrets and a possible way to stop their mother.

Haddy and Ryelyn bring their new baby brother Aiden into the woods with them to leave something that could possibly keep them safe. As they leave their offering, they discuss how their mother has lied about everything from what happened to their older sister to how they now have a baby brother that seemed to come from nowhere.

One night, they search the house and discover a room full of effects from the men who come to the home and never leave before they are discovered by their murderous mother and frightened by Candle Eyes. After meeting with the old woman in the woods again, they learn more about the land and what she did to help the women in the house before getting a visit from their dead sister that night who has a plan to stop their mother.

The Story: Cleveland delivers a dark, interesting and engaging story in this issue. I love the buildup of suspense throughout the issue as the girls discover more about their mother and the secrets and lies they live with daily. The story takes some dark and intriguing turns throughout and brings things to a compelling and interesting cliffhanger that makes me interested in seeing what happens next.

The Art: Cormack delivers great art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the evocative imagery of the mother as well as candle eyes.
