The Rundown: Homer and his friends find sanctuary, but not all of them will be able to stay.

After escaping from the shepherds and his brother, Homer and his friends find themselves in the dark until they discover that they have actually made it to their location, Fort Goode. After finding food waiting for them, they find themselves in the presence of the man who wrote the Book of Evil itself.

After discovering that there has been a cure created for the psychosis in the world, Homer wants to release it until he not only finds out the truth about the world, but also what is happening to him. After he and his friends come to a conclusion about what they want to do, the next part of their journey will begin in fire and death.

The Story: Snyder delivers a brilliant, compelling and often sad conclusion to this arc. The story works brilliantly in its almost completely narrative style and Snyder crafts some beautifully descriptive moments for the reader. I love the world of this story and would love to see more of that world be explored.

The Art: Jock’s art throughout the issue is brilliantly placed and perfectly enhances the emotional significance of the moments it appears in.
