The Rundown: A group of kids tell scary stories around the fire about the killer known as Samantha Strong.
Riley’s Story
Riley tells the story of a high school student who was hiding his love for trick or treating from his fellow students. After getting dressed up at the end of the school day, he decides to go trick or treating. After going to the last house on the block, he finds a woman whose husband went missing only for him to return, but not in the way she thought.
A fun, entertaining short with a great, dark twist ending and great art.
Nate’s Story
Nate has a more personal story that finds him proving a theory about Samantha being part of an ancient cabal turning victims into zombies. To test his theory, he sneaks into Samantha’s abandoned house and finds himself running from both zombies and a cult leader.
An interesting story that pushes the lore in an interesting direction with the absence of the main character in the story itself.
Sean’s Story
Sean has an interesting take on Samantha Strong. He believes that she is a savage monster who captures a local and brings him to her dungeon torture chamber where she cuts people up and turns them into stuffed figured she keeps in her lair.
An entertaining short story with great art.
Fiona’s Story
Fiona’s story begins as a child when she sees a torn apart body at her parent’s funeral home. A body that will fascinate her and bring her face to face with Samantha as they connect on creating a color for Fiona’s art that matches the tone of the blood she saw.
An entertaining short that is filled with great tension as the two characters interact in an interesting and dynamic way. I really like the clean style of the art and how it matches the tone of the story.
