The Rundown: Savage is turning up the heat on Batman in Gotham as an old foe begins a new mystery.

In the aftermath of Batman and Robin’s escape from a killer cop and his injured partner, Savage makes his way to the scene to plant evidence to implicate Batman in the murder unaware that he is being watched. At the same time, Bruce pays a visit to the injured Tim and begins to look at his decisions in the wake of what happened and with the announcement of a device his company invested in that could make huge strides in mental health.
Gordon and Bullock set up a meeting with Batman to discuss the new mandate from Savage regarding Batman and Robin. At Wayne Experimental Sciences, Batman captures Riddler who seems to be regressing mentally and looking for the device that could help him regain his sanity while also revealing that its creator has been experimenting on subjects in Arkham.
The Story: Fraction crafts a gritty, intense and entertaining story in this issue. Beyond the great mystery and dialogue, Fraction adds great moments of humor and heart as well with Bruce contemplating his relationship with the people around him and the danger he puts them in with his crusade. I continue to be impressed with the growing mystery in this arc and look forward to seeing where that mystery takes me next with the revelations towards the end of the issue.
The Art: Jimenez delivers stunning imagery throughout the issue. I love the art, character designs and action a lot.
