The Rundown: Superman and his new allies fight to protect Smallville from the enemies surrounding them.

Smallville is under siege from the forces of Lazarus and Ras Al Ghul. Superman employs Sol to cover the town while he helps the citizens move underground. At the same time, Lois and Jimmy are trying to tell the story of the siege with help from Lana as Lazarus continues its attacks.

Superman is being stretched thin trying to protect Smallville and its citizens while Lazarus continues to press forward. As Kal makes more allies among the people, something happens that will shatter the shield around them, allow Ras and his forces to advance and potentially end Superman’s mission for good.

The Story: Aaron delivers a thrilling, suspenseful action-packed adventure in this issue. The evolution of this story continues to entertain and engage as the character continues to evolve as well. There is great action throughout the issue and Aaron builds on the suspense to a devastating and intense cliffhanger ending that makes me excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Sandoval crafts some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the character designs and how amazing the art is on every page.
