The Rundown: The Batgirls confront Tutor and Seer makes a surprising move.

Stephanie is awakened from the Tutor’s control. Afterwards, Stephanie and Cassie confront their enemy, but experience something unusual. Later, the two return home and discuss both their findings and latest activities with Barbara. The trio then make plans for their next investigation. Sometime later the Batgirls monitor an art opening where Barbara runs into an old acquaintance. When a commotion occurs, the group of heroes seek out Tutor. Meanwhile, the Saints are reintroduced. Finally, Seer makes an unexpected return.

The Story: There are lots of promising plot developments happening in this chapter. The evolution of the fear toxin and its use by Tutor is intriguing. I am curious to find out how the Batgirls will deal with its varying effects. I am also interested in how these events will tie into the machinations of Seer. The cliff hanger ending was very well done and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this series.

The Art: The illustration in this chapter has a youthful and modern design. The bold color work and attention to detail accurately visualizes the tone of the story and provides the reader with an emotional connection to the characters.
