Avengers Infinity War was projected to break records and it is living up to the speculation in a huge way.

Audiences gathered all over the world to watch the latest adventure of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the film has broken both the domestic weekend box office record as well as the worldwide opening record bringing in $250 million domestically to beat previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens $247.9 million. Considering it’s still Sunday as I write this, Monday’s actual box office could be a lot higher.

Overseas, Infinity War brought in $380 million from 72% of the international marketplace (Infinity War has not opened in China yet.). The debut is second to Fate of the Furious overall with China’s numbers added. The film opened at #1 in all the markets it opened in and will open in China on May 11th.

At the end of its opening weekend, Infinity War is estimated to take in over $630 million worldwide, bringing the entire MCU’s global box office to $15.5 billion dollars combined across 19 films.
