The Rundown: The brawl at the royal wedding continues as Arthur finds himself at the mercy of Orm.

The melee at the palace continues as Orm has Arthur on the ropes. With Mera still captured and the rest of the palace in chaos, Arthur makes one last move. A move that will signal to the entire world that he is in need of help and help does arrive.

With his own army at his back and allies from the surface and beneath the seas with him, Aquaman takes on Orm again. As Orm discovers his plans falling apart, unexpected parties come bearing news that will change the battle and possibly usher in a new Atlantis.

The Story: Kelly Sue DeConnick crafts a story so well told in both plot and theme that giving away any more of it in the rundown would ruin the reader’s ability to properly be entertained, surprised and engaged with the issue. There is a poetry to how this story unfolds and that poetry allows for new beginnings, new possibilities and new stories to be told for these characters. The story doesn’t forget to bring the action front and center as well with great moments of intrigue and an awesome climax.

The Art: Miguel Mendonca delivers some incredible art in this issue. The crowd scenes are beautifully detailed. The action is fantastic and the final pages are bright, energetic and brilliantly laid out.
