Deron GenerallyJames Gunn is writing and directing a reboot of DC Comic’s Suicide Squad for the big screen and has added a new member of the cast.
According to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, actor David Dastmalchian has joined the cast of Suicide Squad as Polka-Dot Man. Dastmalchian is known for his roles in films like Ant-Man, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Blade Runner 2049 and Bird Box.
Polka-Dot Man aka Abner Krill was a low-level crook who tried to make a name for himself with spot-themed crimes and a costume that included some amazing gimmicks, such as spots that transformed into buzzsaws and flying saucers on command.
It’s going to be interesting to see what Polka-Dot Man brings to the table as Daastmalchian joins Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Idris Elba in an undisclosed role.
The Suicide Squad opens in theaters August 5, 2021.
