The Rundown: Alice will do anything to return to Wonderland, but her need will lead to some dangerous activities.

Alice is the daughter of one of the most prestigious men in the town, but Alice has been having some issues since she was a young girl. Issues that not only make her distrusted among many of the people in the town, but also puts her in league with a shady man named Morton who provides her with the drug that she needs to leave her life and return to Wonderland.

With her family relegating her to the family embarrassment and her quest for the drug becoming more dangerous, Alice’s sister decides to send her to a sanitarium. Unfortunately, Alice’s need to return to Wonderland will force her to make a dangerous and rash decision that will bring her somewhere that might be more dangerous.

The Story: Panosian delivers an entertaining and intriguing first issue with this story. The story has some familiar themes, but the execution of the plot, the characters and their motivations are unique and compelling. The story has some great moments throughout that make you question if what Alice is experiencing is real or imagined and I like the fact that the story doesn’t answer those questions as it unfolds. I am intrigued by this story and cannot wait to see what happens in the next issue.

The Art: Spalletta and Panosian deliver some great art on every page. The characters look great and the world of the story is perfectly divided by the artistic styles. A great looking issue.
