The Rundown: Diana fights to protect an innocent as they attempt to escape the Maze.

Diana is cornered in the maze with her new allies Ferdinand and Petra and Queen Clea will do anything she can to secure Petra for herself. When Ferdinand makes a noble sacrifice to give Diana and Petra time to escape, she does so thinking back to her time on the island with her mother Circe and the compassion that led her to battle a dangerous creature on the shores.
As Diana travels the maze to find a way out, she uses that moment to free Petra and return to find Ferdinand only to be drugged and forced to dive into a pit that is home to another threat. On the island, Circe has doubts about her mission and consults with Hecate who assures her of who and what Diana is and why she is their perfect weapon.
The Story: Thompson crafts a dark, thrilling and engaging story in this issue. I love seeing Diana showcase both her ferocity and compassion in equal measure. The story continues to do some amazing world building that benefits new readers as well as followers of the arc and I love breaks in the action to flesh out the backstory. Both elements create a wonderful balance to the issue that make me excited to keep reading.
The Art: Sherman delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and how is strikes a brilliant balance between new and classic imagery. A beautiful looking issue from start to finish.
