The Rundown: Superman has a run in with another hero as Brainiac seeks someone special.

Carter Hall finds himself betrayed during a dig in Kahndaq and that betrayal will bring him face to face with his destiny. A destiny that will lead him to Superman who has more important things to do like saving people he can hear throughout the world. Hall’s brash talk forces Superman to bring him with him to Metropolis where Hawkman decides to teach Superman a lesson with his mace and fists.
At the same time, Lois and Jimmy find themselves in Metropolis at the Daily Planet while Superman and Hawkman stare down a creature that has escaped from a Lazarus lab. Outside of Missouri, Brainiac locates Lex Luthor living his normal, ideal life with a wife and family. A life Brainiac will decide to shatter to make Lex into the man he believes he should be.
The Story: Aaron crafts an entertaining story in this issue. There are great moments of tension between Superman and Hawkman and their ideological clashes are interesting to see. I like the side stories with Lois and Jimmy, but the B story with Brainiac and Lex Luthor was definitely the highlight of the issue and the dark turn it takes makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Ferreyra delivers beautifully detailed and visually thrilling art throughout the issue. I really love the visual style of this series.
