The Rundown: Batman investigates Poison Ivy as more secrets are revealed.

Pamela Isley has been brought to Gotham by her mother to see the city not knowing her mother is sick. As her illness gets worse, Pamela dedicates her life and research to finding a way to help her, but her way of helping will take a dangerous turn. In the present, Batman moves to investigate a giant plant creature growing in the middle of the city and find the police officers that went missing inside it.
As Batman fights his way through the building and makes his way towards the top, Bruce thinks about his friends who don’t want to see him and the fact that Batman has become a symbol for the city. As he confronts the entity that was Pamela Isley, Martha Wayne makes a call and reveals a dark secret about her past.
The Story: Snyder continues to craft a brilliantly complicated and entertaining story in this issue. I love the different stories and their points of view. The Isley story is wonderfully sad and complicated. The Bruce story is revelatory and intense and the Batman story is filled with great action and thrills. This is a wonderfully complex and engaging story in this issue. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Canete creates some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art in this issue. I love the action a lot and the designs of Poison Ivy are fantastic.
