The Rundown: Batman takes on an old foe while Robin continues his undercover mission.

Batman takes on Mad Hatter who has created mushrooms that are hallucinating citizens into believing they are in his twisted fantasy. As he fights off the hallucination and Hatter himself, he has some interesting things to say to the villain about the cost of his fantasy.
At the same time, Robin continues his undercover mission which has him holding a gun to Catwoman and being told to shoot her by the Crime Master. When one of the kids causes a distraction, it gives Selina the opportunity to escape and Robin leaves with valuable intel not knowing that he is being followed.
The Story: Waid crafts a thrilling, tense and entertaining story in this issue. I love the parallel stories with Batman versus Mad Hatter and Dick’s undercover mission. It’s a great way to showcase how these characters work independently and I love that there still seems to be drama in the background regarding their pairing. There is some great action throughout the issue, but the story ids beautifully engaging and fun with great dialogue and a growing dynamic between Bruce and Dick that I am enjoying.
The Art: Samnee’s art is stunning throughout the issue. I love the character designs and the style of every page and panel.
