The Rundown: Three teens fight monsters on their way through New York City.

Felipe is an immigrant from Venezuela who moved to New York with his mother after his father is killed in a monster attack in their country. After getting into a fight with his friend Malik and telling the guidance counselor the reasons behind it, he is given detention along with Malik and the two witness an explosion outside that rocks the area.
Alongside their friend Jeanie, the three teens discover that a bigger creature has emerged in New York City and is tearing up the place. After Felipe remembers that his mother is still in the city, he and his friends begin the dangerous journey through the monster covered streets to find her.
The Story: Anta crafts a thrilling, entertaining story in this first issue. I really like the characters and Felipe’s backstory. It creates a great way to bridge his story to the bigger one happening in the city. I like the dynamic between the characters as well and I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.
The Art: Salcedo crafts some great art throughout the issue. I really like the character and creature designs in the story.
