The Rundown: The X-Men fight off dual alien invasions while Rogue makes a decision that will change the group.

An alien group known as the Nur have invaded and taken Nightcrawler hostage while they plan to exterminate everything in their way to root out and destroy a colony of Brood beneath the school the Outliers have been attending. At the same time, Rogue races her way to scene to help her family while the rest of the X-Men and the Outliers fight off both alien forces to rescue the civilians around them.

As Rogue joins the fight, Gambit makes a dangerous and disturbing transformation that leaves everyone reeling while Mutina steps in to help with a plan to turn back one of the alien forces. A plan that will lead to a change in the X-Men including a new class of New Mutants, tears and goodbyes.

The Story: Simone brings this arc to an action packed, thrilling and entertaining conclusion. I love the evolution of these characters, their relationships and the bonds they share. Not only did I love the action throughout the story, but also how well this group fits together both in personality and purpose. This was a brilliantly fun story filled with great character moments, humor and an emotional beat from an unexpected character that was both surprising and endearing.

The Art: All three artists deliver beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. Each visual style complemented the other and were perfect for the sequences they were illustrating.
