The Rundown: Diana finds herself in the hands of her enemies.

Diana fights a mobile prison designed to bring back Zatarra giving Zatanna time to escape with her father. Unfortunately, the machine takes Diana instead and transports her directly to Veronica Cale. Cale also has Barbara captured as she begins torturing Diana to extract both her blood and anything else they can use.

At the same time, there is a conversation among Persephone and Hades in the underworld where a deal they worked out is discussed. A deal that will free Diana from her captors, but at the cost of one of her friends.

The Story: Thompson creates a dark, engaging story in this issue. It begins with great action and thrills before transitioning into a story that explores more of Diana’s complicated relationship to the pantheon and what that relationship means for both her and the people around her. I really like that the story ends with a dark cliffhanger that will challenge both Diana and Barbara.

The Art: Sherman crafts beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and character designs a lot.
