The Rundown: A crashed meteorite will send a research team on a journey into the Twilight Zone.
Dr. Emily Sorensen is an expert in sound waves. When a meteorite falls to Earth and lands in the ocean, she is tapped by the government to join a research team to go discover what is causing it to give off sound waves.
As she and the team head to the location of the crash, Emily’s expertise is called into question and no one is listening to her. When the team is attacked by mutated sea life, Emily begins to hear a strange hum from the meteorite. A hum that is communicating directly with her and causing something strange to happen to her.
The Story: This is the type of story I have been waiting for with this series. As a fan of the Twilight Zone, I have been hot and cold on this particular iteration, but the Francavilla’s have partially restored my faith with a story that has great tension, suspense and terror.
The Art: Francavilla crafts beautifully detailed and visually compelling art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and its use of shadow.
