The Rundown: Diana faces new magical threats.
After being controlled by Zatanna, Diana is helpless to stop her and her team. What Diana doesn’t realize is that Zatanna is using her to remove something implanted in her by Cale. A move that will not only reveal her to Diana but also give Zatanna the chance to escape.
In the aftermath, Cale decides to send someone even stronger to defeat Diana while Wonder Woman finds herself in a battle against Giganta and the rest of her team. A battle that will force Diana to use her magic to match her opponent’s size as she tries to move the fight outside the city.
The Story: Thompson creates a thrilling, entertaining story in this issue. I really loved the action throughout the issue as well as how Diana navigates the threats she faces. I also really loved what Zatanna does in the issue and what her escape could mean for her character going forward. A truly fun, thrilling and engaging story.
The Art: Sherman creates beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style in this series and how great the action looks across the pages.
