The Rundown: Lion-O enters the Book of Omens to learn its secrets.

Lion-O opens the Book of Omens and the story begins to unfold around him. He sees the third age of Thundera and his father alongside Jaga and a mysterious Thundercat named Grune who he doesn’t know. He also gets visions of the Great War between his people and the Mutants. He continues to speak to the book and is surprised that the book speak to him as it relates its story to the lord of the Thundercats.
He learns more about Mumm-Ra and his threat to their people as well as what he seeks. Lion-O is given a mission by the Book and a lead on where to go next. He also learns of another group of Thundercats lost in time. As he learns of a possible future for him and his people, Lion-O commits to following the teachings of the book as he begins his next steps and leader.
The Story: Shalvey crafts an entertaining and engaging story in this issue. I like that the story takes the time to expand and connect the lore of this universe for Lion-O and the reader while also teasing the arcs to come in this series. An interesting and compelling story throughout with some great drama that I want to see explored.
The Art: O’Sullivan creates some great visual throughout the issue. I like that the art is the book itself and how its words and images enhance the story and drama.
