The Rundown: Father Miguel brings his protégé along to tell her about her next target.

Walking through the streets of the city, Miguel and his protégé see her next target. He pulls her back because the man’s personal bodyguard is someone more dangerous than either of them have faced. After telling her what he knows about the man, he gives her advice about how to proceed.

While Miguel is called in by the Cardinal to answer for bringing the young woman on a case and her reaction to finding out something dark, the young woman begins the next part of her plan. A plan that will take time, patience and a means of getting close to the target without anyone suspecting.

The Story: Starks creates a thrilling, engaging and interesting story in this issue. I love the story and how the character is growing and evolving both in her style and her revenge. I love the slow burn with the bodyguard and how clues to what happens to him are planted in previous issues. I like the backstory a lot and the action is wonderfully effective and entertaining.

The Art: Kowalski creates some beautifully dark and detailed art throughout the issue. The violence is artful in its visceral tone and that works for the kind of revenge story being told in this series.
