The Rundown: A powerful group has targeted Huck but bringing him down will be harder than they think.
Years ago, Malik takes out the competition to become the new head of a covert team charged with killing anyone who has superpowers. After a series of successful operations that include not only Huck’s mother, but also the people Huck has been helping across the country, Malik and his team have their sights set on Huck himself.
Huck is confronted by a pregnant Zoe and Huck tells her he is worried that he’s lost his connection with his mother and the others before the pair are attacked by Malik’s group. After a fierce fire fight, the mercenaries and their backup are decimated and Huck discovers that it wasn’t done by him or Zoe.
The Story: After the explosive and tragic cliffhanger at the end of the last issue, I was curious to see what Millar would do and I was not disappointed. There are some beautifully tragic character moments throughout, thrilling action and a surprise reveal that has me excited for the characters, their world and the future of this series. A thoroughly impressive and exciting continuation.
The Art: Albuquerque delivers stunning imagery throughout the issue. From the character moments to the blistering action, every page had something to capture the eye of the reader.
