The Rundown: A series of supernatural murders will attract the attention of Sara and the Witchblade.

A homeless man is murdered as the sun goes down and the mural behind him is defaced. Sara and her new partner Fontaine are killed in to investigate and Sara sees that there is something strange about the scene and the murder itself. Both officers are also unaware that they are being watched.

As they continue their investigation, Fontaine discovers a young woman following and watching them and after bringing her in, Sara decides to walk her home. A walk that will not only include a battle with a demonic entity, but bring her and the young woman to another crime scene and another grisly murder.

The Story: Bennett creates a great mystery in this new arc and I am all in with not only Sara’s battle with the demonic forces in the city, the new character introduced in this arc and the interpersonal conflict with Fontaine. There is some great dialogue throughout the issue and I love the fact that the narration is through the eyes of a new character because it gives new insight into Sara from the outside.

The Art: Cafaro delivers stunning art throughout the issue. I love the dramatic lines, the visual thrills of the action and the character designs.
