Production has wrapped on several blockbuster projects that are expected for release next year.

According to sources, including director Simon Kinberg’s Instagram, X-Men: Dark Phoenix has officially wrapped production.

 

The film, which is a follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse and shows the younger versions of the mutant heroes, will be an adaptation of the critically acclaimed Dark Phoenix Saga written by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. The story features Jean Grey dealing with the effects of her growing powers both physically and emotionally and culminates in her taking on a dark persona and becoming a threat to everyone she cares for.

Kinberg took to his Instagram account to post a photo with the caption “That’s a wrap.” followed by the hastags #darkphoenix, #xmenmovies and the films release date November 2, 2018.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Peters, Sophie Turner, Nicholas Hoult and Jessica Chastain. It is written and directed by Simon Kinberg.
