The Rundown: The attack on Krakoa and break-ins at Krakoan based businesses prompt a response from the mutant nation and a new strike team to deliver it.
There’s been a break in at a facility linked to Krakoa and a number of Madrox dupes wind up dead. Jean, Sage and Beast are sent in to investigate what happened and they discover that the attack was cover for the theft of something more interesting. The attack brings the quiet council together to formalize a strategy to stop this new threat and that will include a response team.
Composed of Wolverine, Kid Omega and Domino, this new X-Force goes to Forge for some new equipment before they are dispatched to another Krakoa facility under attack. An attack with human allies in the crosshairs.
The Story: This story continues to be one of the darker chapters in the new world of mutants and that is its greatest strength. Benjamin Percy crafts a gritty, bold and brilliant story that continues in this issue. The new forces allied against the mutant nation continue to be a palpable threat and one that is portrayed as being both capable and brutal in its efficiency. The dialogue is fantastic and Percy makes all of the characters more interesting by adding new and interesting asides and potential story aspects that keep me engaged.
The Art: Joshua Cassara delivers some stunning, brutal and beautiful art in this issue. The characters are drawn beautifully and with great style. The action is brutal and laid out like an action movie. A great looking issue.
