The Rundown: Diana goes on a mission of love while the US prepares for war.

Diana continues to refuse to leave the country despite the growing backlash against her in the wake of the failed military attack on her and the suicide of one of the soldiers involved. Even Steve is feeling the pressure as he defends Diana against his fellow soldiers. At the same time, the country waits for the President to address the issue while the true leader of the country prepares his next moves against Wonder Woman.

Diana grants a wish for a sick child. A wish that will bring her and the boy to the shores of Themyscira as the Amazons prepare for possible war.

The Story: King delivers an entertaining and often contemplative story in this issue. There isn’t a lot of action in the plot, but there is a heightened level of tension throughout the story as Diana continues to do what’s right and we see the forces lining up and plotting against her. There are some great suspenseful moments in the story as well as some amazing moments of sweetness and compassion that exemplify the best aspects of the character.

The Art: Sampere delivers some fantastic art throughout the issue. The art is visually stunning and I love the composition of the panels.
