Warner Brothers is gearing up to begin production on a live action film based on the classic Hannah Barbera animated adventure series Jonny Quest and the studio has announced that they have a director for the project.

According to Deadline, Warner Brothers has hired Chris McKay to direct the film. McKay is known for directing animated series like Titan Maximum and Robot Chicken. He directed the highly successful Warner Brothers family film The Lego Batman Movie and will also be directing a live action Nightwing film for DC Films. 

Jonny Quest was created by Doug Wildey and chronicles the globe-trotting adventures of Johnny, his scientist father Dr. Benton Quest, his adopted brother Hadjii and the family bodyguard Race Bannon.
