Walt Disney Pictures is staying in the live action remake business with the announcement of a live action remake of their 2010 animated hit Tangled and they have reportedly found their Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Walt Disney Pictures has cast Australian actress Teagan Croft in the lead role of Rapunzel, the long haired curious young woman confined to a tower. Croft has recently been seen in the movie True Spirit and is most known for playing Raven in the live action Titans series for HBO Max based on the comic book series Teen Titans.

Taking on the role of Rapunzel’s love interest and local rogue Flynn Rider is actor Milo Manheim. Manheim is known for his role as Zed in the Zombies musical movies from Disney. He recently starred in the fourth film in the Zombies series and can next be seen in the upcoming second season of School Spirits.

With the two leads cast, Disney is reporting speaking with someone huge to take on the role of Mother Gothel, the witch who kidnaps and keeps Rapunzel in the tower with deception and fear. According to the trades, Disney is talking to none other than Kathryn Hahn to take on the role. If they are committed to doing this, Hahn is a the perfect person for the role. With her recent return as Agatha Harkness in Agatha All Along and her role in The Studio, Hahn consistently proves that she has both the screen presence and acting ability to take on any role.
