Wolverine is treating Scott’s wounds and as he laments the fact that the X-Men are gone, Logan tells him that there are still mutants left that need their help.

Logan puts a plan in place to rescue the missing mutants and he needs a member of ONE to do it. When the plan goes south, the last two X-Men press their attack to enter the facility. When they get closer, they find that there is a new breed of Sentinel attacking them. Unfortunately, these Sentinels are hiding a dark and twisted secret.

As they fight their way into the facility, they find it occupied by a lot of familiar faces. As they make their escape, they witness the lengths the facility will go to in order to stop them and Scott makes a discovery that will change his entire world.

Matthew Rosenberg pushes the limits in this issue and introduces some amazing surprises in this issue. There is a moment of tragedy in the issue that directly connects to New Mutants: Dead Souls from Rosenberg and it provides context to what is happening to the mutants in custody. It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out as well as the revelation elated to Scott. The dialogue is great and the pace makes this issue exciting to read.

Salvador Larroca’s art is amazing. There are some fantastic panels in this issue and they match the pace and tone of the story perfectly.
