The Rundown: Oliver has a final showdown with the First, but he will not have to face him alone.
Oliver is still in the clutches of the First and he is preparing the boy to become a sacrifice to give the rat the power to control the real world. As the First prepares the ritual, Oliver tries to convince Dewy to help him. A prospect that becomes more difficult when his grandfather and mother swoop in on a storm of explosions and fireworks to free the boy.
As Oliver fights for his life, Pecos Pete and his daughter fight the First’s forces with Oliver’s mother finally embracing her toon powers. As the fight rages on, Oliver and company get an unexpected surprise when another army arrives to help them with Oliver’s father at the head.
The Story: Fleecs brings this arc to a satisfying and entertaining conclusion. The story has some great action and emotion throughout and brings all of the story elements together with thrilling moments that I enjoyed a lot. I loved the reveal towards the end of the story and what it means for Oliver and his mother. There are some great seeds being planted to bring readers back to this world and I cannot wait to see if there is another adventure to be had.
The Art: Wachter delivers beautifully detailed and stunning art that I loved to see from panel to panel. There are visual moments that made me smile from ear to ear as they brought me back to my childhood.
