The Rundown: Logan goes to help a young woman with a connection to his past with a unique group of heroes.

Over a century ago, a man travels the road by horse and cart to deliver his dead son to his final rest when he is stopped by a gang who wants what he has. After revealing himself to be a mutant, he dispatches the men and discovers another one buried, but not dying. After retrieving Logan and taking him to Haven House, he meets the other mutants who live there and teams when them and Logan when two special children are targeted for lynching.

In the present, Logan asks Jubilee to come with him to a local bar. Jubilee discovers that Logan is there to watch over and protect a young woman with a connection to his past being harassed by a gang of young men who get a swift lesson in messing with the Wolverine.

The Story: Simone and Kendall create some great lore in this issue and I love its connection to both the past of Haven House and its connection to Logan. I really loved the new characters revealed in this issue as well as the return of Lady Henrietta. It’s a great way of connecting threads from the main storyline while creating something new and unique.

The Art: Mortarino creates some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue.
