The Rundown: A mutant slasher film will prompt the young mutants to confront its star.

A new movie is about to debut that has audiences lining up across the country. With the protagonist of this new horror film being a mutant, the various X-Men groups are concerned with having a mutant killer on screen and what impact it will have on their community. The Outliers manage to get tickets opening night and proceed to see the movie before returning home.
With tensions rising with the mutants at school and at home, Calico and Jitter discover the star of the film is nearby and decide to pay her a visit. A visit that will reveal a dark truth about the star and position her as an even bigger threat to mutants.
The Story: Simone crafts an interesting and entertaining premise in this issue. There is a lot of potential storylines in a self-hating mutant who has succumbed to the darkest parts of social media and I am intrigued to see how this character evolves. The issue has some great character moments throughout and I love seeing this team continue to come together as heroes while also developing their relationships as teenagers.
The Art: Vecchio creates some beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the design of Mutina and the brilliantly detailed visual world of the issue.
