The members of the Terrifics are still dealing with what their new circumstances mean for their personal lives as Plastic Man tries to re-connect with someone special in his life after being missing for years and Metamorpho comes to a decision that could seriously affect his relationship with Sapphire. The only person who doesn’t seem effected is Mr. Terrific, who has locked himself away in his lab for the most part while he looks for a way to sever their connection to each other.

Everything comes to a head with many of them as Phantom Girl gets under Terrific’s skin, Rex lashes out and Plastic Man learns about the consquences of his career as a hero. They don’t have that mich time to go over their personal issues when an outside threat calls them into action and it looks like this threat is tied directly to Metamorpho. The team descends on a small city in Michigan that is being attacked by people with the same elemental powers as Rex.

The reveal at the end is definitely worth reading as it has huge consequences for the entire team going forward and it definitely ties back to Rex’s conversation with  Sapphire. I wish a little more time was spent on the interpersonal relationships between these characters. For a book about a team, I’m still not getting a sense of how these characters work together because a lot of those moments are thin. What continues to draw me to this title is the characters and I hope they are more of the focus going forward.
