The Rundown: The new, untested Swamp Thing will have to find a way to fight his fear to embrace his destiny.

Levin has become part of a cycle he does not understand or know how to escape. Every night he finds himself transported to the desert and every night he is too late to stop the Pale Wanderer from taking its latest victim. As the cycle continues, Levi decides to learn more about what is happening and more importantly, how he can use it.

Unfortunatly, there are still people watching him with agendas of their own. After talking with a friend about what he’s experiencing and trying to convince her that it’s all real, Levi takes another trip into the green and this time, he emerges with both power and purpose. Purpose that will make him a threat to some and power that will make him attractive to others.

The Story: Ram V takes the character of Swamp Thing in some new and interesting directions in this issue. By getting rid of many of the character limitations of previous iterations, Ram V has allowed for a new character to emerge that has endless possibilities. The plot is great, the dialogue is fresh and the cameos tease something interesting to come for Swamp Thing.

The Art: Perkins delivers some great art throughout the issue. Each page is filled with dark and eye-catching details.
