The Rundown: With the world falling apart, Ernie will have to decide to either help or watch it burn.

Central Authority has been brought down, Scorpionus’ fascists are taking to the streets and Moonflower’s forces are right behind them. With all of the factions fighting each other, people immediately start taking sides and full blown war threatens to break out. At the same time, Ernie refuses to pick a side. An act that put him in the crosshairs of Sister Mary.

Ernie manages to escape as things begin to get worse and in order to find some way to reach him, his opposite decides to track him down. What follows is Ernie doing something completely unexpected and an even more unexpected conclusion to the wild story of Ernie Ray Clementine.

The Story: Remender brings this story to one of the best, most surprising conclusions I’ve seen in comics in a long time. It was absolutely brilliant in its execution. There are definitely some moments that felt like Remender was getting some things off his chest personally, but the point of view works for the themes and tone of the story. As awesome as the story is, the ending of the issue was a gut punch that took me completely by surprise in the best way.

The Art: Boschi nails the perfect visual tone and emotion on every page of the issue. The visuals are beautifully done and awesome to look at with details to catch the eye in every panel.
