The Rundown: The superpowers meet for a party, but for one of them, it could be the last.
Etienne arrives in Melbourne for a party and is the first to arrive at the stadium before Valentina who has some choice words for him. At the same time, Dev and Eliza are planning on killing Etienne when Heavy presents his son to the group when they all gather.
As the superpowers gather in the stadium, Etienne and the others wait for Eliza to arrive as they begin to assess Heavy’s son Kid Ignition. When the weather changes and the stadium is shut, Eliza puts the plan into action, but killing someone as powerful as Etienne might not have the outcome they hoped for.
The Story: Gillen continues to craft a thrilling, engaging and entertaining story in this issue. There are so many great character moments throughout the story and I love the buildup of tension and suspense as events unfold. The story builds on the fraught relationships between the characters to a devastating moment that left me reeling until the final moments of the issue that left me excited to see where the story goes next.
The Art: Wijngaard delivers beautifully detailed and visually arresting art throughout the issue. The imagery is stunning and perfectly captures the mood and tone of the story.
