The Rundown: Penny and Sam fight to escape the darkness as Pigface comes for what it is owed.

Sam and Duncan have finally managed to wake up Penny after Duncan sacrificed himself to give her the strength she needed. Penny tries to get her mother to leave her mind so they can wake up, but Pigface is incensed because it wants what it was promised from Tash who finally has his daughter back. Unfortunately, Pigface decides to take its anger out on Tash for breaking his word before turning its attention to Sam and Penny.

Pigface attempts to swallow the pair and Penny pleads for her mother to let her go. As she falls into the creature, Penny begins a transformation that will allow her to not only free her mother and herself, but take on and destroy the creature once and for all before she turns her attention to finding a way to free her father from a prison of his own making.

The story has a fantastic buildup of emotion, tension and suspense as it leads its characters to a conclusion that not only fulfills on the promise of the premise of this series, but also allows for some deep emotional healing for the characters. A brilliant end to a wonderfully emotional and intense series.

The Art: Johnson and Rossmo deliver fantastic art throughout the issue. Not only are the action moments brilliantly detailed and compelling, but the human moments capture the deep emotion of the plot.
