The Rundown: The House of El and the House of Zod will unite to uncover the truth behind the Krypton conspiracy.

The final battle against Rogol Zaar brings everyone back to where it all started, Krypton. Jor El allows himself to be followed to the ruins of the planet in order to expose his son and General Zod to Zaar’s biggest secret. A secret that will open up more mysteries when it is finally uncovered. As Superman and Zod go after Zaar, they receive an assist not only from Jon and Kara, but the Thanagarians as well.

In the aftermath, Superman and the remaining Kryptonians meet with the most powerful planets in the galaxy to discuss what they know and learn the truth. Unfortunately, old rivalries threaten to rip the galaxy apart until Jon makes a proposal that changes everything.

The Story: Bendis is bringing the best parts of this storyline to a satisfying conclusion. While there are still questions left unanswered and the fate of both Jor-El and Rogol Zaar unresolved, Bendis manages to take this part of the story down some interesting paths. Both the pace and plot of this issue worked for me and I really enjoyed the revelation about Rogol Zaar’s origins. It opens up story possibilities that I would love to see explored.

The Art: Ivan Reis provides some beautiful art in this issue. There are several beautiful pages throughout filled with characters and details especially the big group shot in the issue and towards the end.
