The Rundown: Supergirl has returned to Earth and will go from one mystery to another with a potential tragedy close to home.
Kara’s return to Earth will take her from the mystery of Rogol Zaar directly into the mystery of Leviathan. Supergirl and Krypto find their way to a secret DEO base in the desert and find an old friend who doesn’t want to give her the information she needs to find her adoptive parents and former DEO spies. After finally getting the info she needs, Supergirl races to the location only to find less than what she thought, but her trip gets the attention of Leviathan.
A Leviathan strike team goes after Kara and Krypto and Supergirl will find out quickly that these soldiers are prepared for her. Not only are they wearing lead lined suits to prevent identification, but they are all armed with Kryptonite and not afraid to use it.
The Story: Marc Andreyko drops Kara right back into another mystery with this issue and it not only makes sense, but it adds another personal spin on the Leviathan storyline. Kara searching for her adoptive parents is a storyline that I am interested in seeing play out. It will be even more interesting to see Kara delve deep into the mystery of both Leviathan and her parents life in the DEO. I even like the moments where the story teases of Kara’s life including the missing person poster. The Brainiac 1 side story is interesting as well and I want to see where it goes.
The Art: Eduardo Pansica does some great art in this issue. The characters and the action are amazing.
